Primus’ albums worst to best. Primus is a rock band formed by bassist/vocalist Les Claypool and original guitarist Todd Huth, formerly called Primate. The band before 1989 consisted of Les Claypool, Todd Huth, and drummer Jay Lane. After Lane and Huth left, guitarist Larry “Ler” Lalonde and Tim “Herb” Alexander joined. Herb would leave in 1996 and reunite with the band for two albums. The drummer that joined after Herb left was Bryan “Brain” Mantia. Brain was the drummer for 1996-2000, spanning two albums. Jay Lane returned to Primus to record the 7th Primus album, Green Naugahyde. After Lane left again, Herb returned for Primus and the Chocolate Factory and The Desaturating Seven. Herb left again in 2024. The band now consists of bassist/vocalist Les Claypool, guitarist Larry “Ler” Lalonde, and drummer John “Hoffer” Hoffman. Hoffer joined after Herb’s departure in 2024. We don’t know if he will be the drummer that Primus will keep. We shall wait and see.
